Geography & Climate

The geography of The City of Hollowleaf can be separated by the woods and the town.

Firstly, the big dense forest is an area full of thick ancient trees that seem to endless soar above the clouds. Weak sun rays from above, peek through the thick cobweb of branches and leaves, softly spotlighting the ground floor. Yellow, orange, and red hues of leaves hang along their branches and play within the soft breeze. On the floor ground of the woods, thick green moss can be found coating part of the barren dirt and along the base of the trees. Fragile purple, white, and blue florals grow along the base of tree trunks and sway with the breeze. Delicate yellow-green grass and crunchy leaves live along with the florals and tree trunks on the ground floor.       

Approaching the small community living deep in the woods, organized piles of fallen leaves can be commonly found. Homes made from abandoned tree trunks for a small family of pumpkins, along with old white picket fences and gardening tools become more and more common to see when entering their tiny community.  In the center of this tiny pumpkin village, a tilted old stone statue of their fallen smiling father can be found gifted with flowers and mushrooms growing upward along the statue's feet. 

Outside this big and dense forest, a tiny area full of shops, diners, and stacked up trailer-homes makes the town area of Hollowleaf. Soft yellow star-shaped balloons can be found attached to a string and floating throughout the town. Many of the townsfolk like to move them around and even take them home, but for some miraculous reason, new star-shaped balloons would be replaced the very next day.

Culture & Inhabitants

Hollowleaf is the friendliest of all the local neighborhoods and it's common to have many travelers. While the townsfolk see each other like family, this community is just as warm and friendly towards visitors that may stumble upon their small neighborhood. Crime and violence in The City of Hollowleaf are practically non-existent and most people within The Ghostly expect to give and receive kindness when visiting.

Despite this, the townfolks of Hollowleaf are quite confused about the living pumpkins that reside in the dense woods. This is mostly due to the fact that the majority of the pumpkins do not speak and are not accustomed to meeting others outside their small pumpkin community. Only a few pumpkins have the ability to speak and are more than willing to share with their neighbors. Still, most townspeople can't seem to understand them fully and this leads to a few awkward interactions. Many misunderstandings and unintended ignorance are still embedded within the townsfolk and some visitors that may stumble upon the pumpkin community.

Funnily enough, the cultures between the townfolks and the living pumpkins are actually way more similar than most people would think. In fact, the fear and confusion of the living pumpkins is mainly from the fact that the woods is still considered a wild and untamed place, to this day. And even when the downtown folks may not understand the pumpkin community, they are very protective of them.
