Devin
Full Name: Devinne
Pronouns: He/Him
Age: Adult
Species: Creature
Occupation: Midstellar Market Manager
A resident of: Yolkytown
Devin is the unofficial owner of Midstellar Market, who happens to take his job a bit too seriously.
Background:
Devin is a proud self-sufficient store manager of Midstellar Market. Before he became their #1 store manager, he lived all his life in The Castle of Bloodroot while pursuing his love for journalism. Unfortunately, his family was strongly against his passion for journalism and refused to get involved with his future decisions. Despite this, Devin successfully landed an apprenticeship for the most well-known newspaper in The Ghostly, The Midwalk Journal, now proudly known as The Ghostly Fables. Devin quickly worked his way up the work ladder. Sadly after his final promotion as editor-in-chief, many had issues with his lack of credentials and questioned his capabilities and many arguments broke out within the workplace. After a particularly intense argument that turned violent and physical, everyone was sent home once the CEO heard the commotion. The very next day the whole building of The Midwalk Journal completely disappeared and Devin and his former coworkers were left jobless.
Because of his sudden employment change, Devin decided to move out of the fast-paced neighborhood of The Castle of Bloodroot and into the calm village of Yolkytown. Glady Devin was able to find a place to live on his first day! He took the vacant room above the peculiar shop named Midstellar Market, in exchange for cleaning after-hours every day. Devin quickly discovered the enjoyment he felt when helping around the shop, despite the owner's strange lurking presence. As business slowly picked up in Midstellar Market, Devin was offered an official position as the shop assistant while the owner's infamous disappearances began. By the time the odd owner eventually disappeared completely, Devin was promoted to shop manager. During his off-duty days, Devin can be found sitting by the window above the shop smoking and invested completely in a book during the dark of night.
Personality:
Devin is a snarky and analytical person. Knowing his complicated family life and work background, he rather sits back and sips a glass of fine wine before acting on his feelings. Devin is a very hardworking and optimistic person in secret. Devin's current goal is to see Midstellar Market reach its full potential, despite the shop's difficult relationship with the people of Yolkytown. Because of this clear vision, Devin holds a firm and strict control over those who work in the shop-.
Fashion Sense:
Devin's fashion sense can be described as thick and warm. Despite the soft spring-like weather in Yolkytown, he has not fully adapted from his Castle of Bloodroot-attire. Devin enjoys warm clothing, with his signature dark gray turtleneck and form-fitting, pressed black slacks. He prefers to stick to dark colores, in contrast to the bright or playful patterns that are commonly found among the folks of Yolkytown.
Platonic & Romantic Relationships:
Playing kindly with others does not come easy for Devin. He struggles with opening up to others, acts very awkwardly when trying to converse, and acts harshly without realizing it. Because of this, Devin tends to sticks to himself. Despite this, Devin sometimes catches himself shamefully trying to connect with his subordinates, Shoes, and Lee. To prevent this, he comforts himself within the written words that live among his tiny library above the shop.
Before he started his promotional climb in The Midwalk Journal, Devin was actually quite popular amongst his acquaintances for his work ethic and looks. He had gone on a few first dates out of curiosity but never went further than that. Currently, Devin isn't looking for more than his exciting relationship with Midstellar Market but is open to a passionate connection with others if the opportunity arises.
